a twist was revealed on the wildcard night of american idol 8. instead of the usual top 12, we will have 13 people in the finals this season. four more hopefuls advanced after the wildcard round. of the 8 contestants that were brought back to the competition, the following four singers advanced:1. megan corkrey
2. jasmine murray
3. matt giraud
4. anoop desai
they join earlier qualifiers danny gokey, alexis grace and michael sarver from group 1; adam lambert, kris allen and allison iraheta from group 2 and lil rounds, scott macintyre and jorge nunez from group 3. it's also good to note that the guys outnumbered the girls this season, 8 - 5.
