it's the country week for the remaining eleven finalists of the eight season of american idol. it's the make or break week since the idols that are going throught to the next week will be part of the top 10. and the top 10 will be the ones that will go on tour and wil be in contract with idol.so here is my week's ranking of their performances, from the weakest to the best performer of the night.
11. adam lambert - i did not like the performance. it was too loud, too shoiuty and too dramatic. i got tired of hearing the same typr of performance from him. it still sounded like the cher song he sang in the final round of hollywood week. he should show some other side of him or else people will get tired of him and he will become predictable.
10. scott macintyre - i like him. his performance was good was not spectacular. there are still some parts i think was quite uncomfortable but it was not bad. his face is also flat when he sings. i don't get any expression. it was simply bland. but i do hope he makes it to the top 10.
9. lil rounds - she sounded weird with that low key andit was a safe performance but was quite boring.i agree with the judges that it was not the correct song for her. it did not show her vocal prowess.
8. alexis grace - it was okay but was forgettable. but she sounded great and i like her. but her hair is kinda distracting now. hope her stylist do something about it next week.
7. michael sarver - it was a difficult song to sing, too may words but he nailed it. it was not amazing but i think it was good enough. it did show he is also a fun guy apart from the serious man that we have seen
6. megan corkrey - i really like her unique voice and it really make her stand out. it was much better than last week but she had difficulty reaching the high notes. but she should also choose a slow song one of these days if she stays. she had sang fast songs so far and she needs to show versatility. and the flu thing is also a plus point for her (plus the fact that dialidol is supporting her).
5. anoop desai - great comeback from a very dismal performance last week. he did great, it was a good song for him and he delivered. i think he deserves another week.
4. allison iraheta - we now know why the judges called her the dark horse of the competition. she sings really, really well. but she has the tendency to sound too shouty. she must control her voice and give dynamics. but she is great.
3. matt giraud - he gave a good performance and he really knows his piano. and having the pimp spot will definitely help him. but i would still like to see him with out the piano and show his vulnerability and versatility.
2. danny gokey - i agree with kara and randy that the first half was very shaky and was really uncomfortable but when he reached the chorus, i tend to forget the first part and he made me remember how good he really is. i am also not digging his outfit. but he is definitely good.
1. kris allen - i really liked his performance tonight. he should versatility and he sounded great. after hearing 2 up tempo songs in his past 2 performances, he definitely showede his sensitive side tonight and it was great. his charisma is also making wonders for him and his performance tonight made me more curious of what he has in store in the next few weeks.
i think the boys are doing better this season. so my top 3 tonight are kris, danny and matt. my bottom three for tonight based on their performance are adam, scott and lil. but i think the bottom 3 would be megan, scott and michael i think either michael or megan is going home tomorrow.
