survivor philippines: why gigit lost

cesar "gigit" sulit is definitely a good fit to be a cast away. he is a logical thinker. he is fit despite his age. he is very likeable and has not had any fights with the tribemates so far. he is a mountain climber, he is an outdoor person. so why did he lose the game?

first, he did not made a move to make alliances, he waited for the alliance to come to him. he is a very strategic player, we have seen that. he is planning to vote for patani but did not approach anyone about it. yes, he was in an alliance but he was the last person in to that alliance. jace, john, vern and marlon are already in the alliance when they offered it to him. he would definitely be the easiest one to sacrifice, if the need arises.

second, when he went into the alliances, the first thing he did was to contradict john's view that nina should be the first one to go. being the last person in the alliance, he should have thought that i should listen to them first because they are already in the alliance before i got in. he did not negotiate for them to vote for patani. he dictated them. he said that if its nina, he would not go with them. this might have pissed off john or jace.

third, he was very analytical and he showed it to them. he has plans which is definitely not aligned with the other's plans and he is very persistent with what he thinks. other tribemates might thought that he will definitely become a threat.

fourth, he became too comfortable with his alliance with the guys and vern that he did not mind the girls alliance. he did not bother to know which one of them is the girls' target. if he had known that he is the target, he might have negotiated it with nina, since he already saved her ass in the boys alliance.

and lastly, he did not adjust to the situation well. before tribal council, he already kn ew that patani and nina are the odd girls in the tribe that could be voted out and he is the odd man in their alliance. with this, he could have talked with nina for a possible secret alliance and watch each other's back. that was complacency, and you should never relax in this game called survivor.

gigit definitely did his best. he strategized and came prepared. but it felt short. i would like to see him in all stars and do better in that season, if all stars is already in the plans of gma 7.

survivor philippines: gigit is the third cast away voted off the island

cesar "gigit" sulit of the jarakay tribe became the third cast away to be voted off the show in the first season of survivor philippines. gigit, a web developer and a mountain climber, was voted out by his tribemates with a unanimous 8 - 1 vote, with patani gaining a vote from gigit. at his exit interview, gigit said that jarakay have lost its competitive edge with them voting him out.

here are some important notes that we got from last night's episode:

> with john still in the hospital, scrambling for safety is still happening at jarakay. gigit talked with jace about the situation and is still voting for patani. marlon is also strategizing with the girls. the girls are still voting for gigit. patani is still in a haze if she will join the girls alliance and even cannot answer vern's question if she wants to stay.

> charisse does not want john back in the game. she still sees him as a threat and with his condition, he might be a load to carry through the game. when john returned to the island, who saw him first? its charisse. she stood up and clapped her hands. who hugged john first? yes, its charisse...

> john is back. it was great that he was allowed to go back. it would be corny to see someone go in that kind of way. i would personally porefer to see them voted off rather than kicked off due to one reason other than tribal council.

> nikki is still volunteering to go home. is this strategy or is she really home sick? with the limited exposure that is given to her in the show, that is the only thing that i can remember about her, except probably that she brought a comb as a luxury item (who needs a comb in survivor?).

> naak camp is in danger of being wiped out due to the high tide. at least they have secured their fire and kept it burning.

> interesting tribal council. i have never seen a tribal council like that in the us version. each of the tribe memebers would go out of the area one by one and the other tribe mates would discuss about that person. here are some notes from the discussion

patani - very amusing, nina - great work ethics, asset to the tribe, gigit - very competitive, charisse - very wise and has substance, marlon - talks a lot and keeps boasting about himself, vern - competitive and athletic, her weakness is jace, jace - very outgoing and vern really likes him, nikki - homesick, john - (sorry i can't remember)

> other topics discussed in tribal council were thai pillow challenge (aren't we over that challenge yet? that was last week already...), jace and vern's romance, and what to do to keep you in the game

> patani gave a statement that might have sealed her fate. she said that i am ready to go if the tribe votes for her... i won't be surprised if she will be the next to go (if there would really be a double elimination...)

> patani also gave the best statement of the night when she was asked why she thinks could keep her in the game. she said, "kahit magaling ka, kahit makahuli ka man ng maraming isda, kahit makahuli ka man ng pating, kung matatanggal ka, tatanggalin ka..." that's very true. nice words to be coming from such a character in the game...

> gigit was voted out unanimously, 8-1. all of his tribemates voted for him. what was not shown? how the boys (john and jace) and vern agreed to vote for him. was it marlon who convinced them? i think these are vital information that the viewers need to know.

> gigit was definitely blind sided. he never saw it coming. he thought he had a great alliance but he was betrayed. same fate as what ozzy had in survivor micronesia.

> after the vote, jarakay was surprised... they have to vote again. the episode ends there. will there be a double elimination? if so, who's in danger? i think only 3 persons are in danger. patani, because of the statements she said during the tribal council. nikki, because of her homesickness. john, because of the fact that he was pulled out of the game. probable boot? my fearless forecast is patani.
