survivor philippines: marlon guests in kapuso mo jessica soho

the so-called "bad boy of primetime television" marlon carmen guested in gma 7's saturday magazine show, kapuso mo, jessica soho and reveals somethings about himself. the show showed his family and his high school, which seems to be a normal person as compared to what we have seen in survivor philippines in which he really played the villain.

jessica soho even accompanied him in a mall where people had mixed rections when they saw him. some approached him with a smile, and some even took photos with him. some said that he was great in the show. but there was this one lady that oipenly shouted that he hated marlon.

on the second part of the segment, marlon revealed somethings about himself that we still don't know. he was a cancer survivor. he also got a collection of deadly weapons, majority of which are swords. that is why he was comfortable during the spear throwing challenge. some of his relatives even call him mcguyver, after a popular tv show in the 80's and early 90's that was great in making gadgets.

he also now owns a shawarma business with his brother. the stalls has pictures of marlon on its tarpaulins. during the airing of the show, some would even go there and punch his pictures. but as his brothers says, bad publicity is still publicity and told us that the business is really doing great.

pinoy fear factor: phem, jommy and jose are in danger of elimination

the second challenge in the tercera ronde de eliminacion or third round of elimination is called tanque con serpientes. in this challenge, the participantes needs to retrieve yellow rubber rings in the bottom of the tank. there are 100 black rubber rings and only 40 yellow rubber rings. in addition, eels were added to the tank. to make things harder, snakes of various sizes were also added to the tank. time limit is 5 minutes but you can call it quits anytime. the two male participantes and one female participante will be up for elimination, the others would be safe.

first up was jommy. jommy dived excellently and got lots of rubber rings from the tank. aspiring chef was next. he said that he was not an excellent diver and swimmer. he got into a slow start and got some rubber rings but he got bitten on the back by one snake which made him panic a bit but he continued the challenge. he dived a couple of more times and was again bitten by another snake. this prompted him to call it quits.

phem was up next and also said that she is not a good swimmer and she has fear of snakes. she dived into the pool and tried the stunt but was so afraid and called it quits immediately. marion was up next. just like jommy, he made the stunt look easy and got so many rubber rings. surprisingly, savanah did well in this challenge. she had a difficult time at the start but still managed to get it going in the end and did not quit. rj was the last one to do the challenge. he did it quick and got so many rubber rings. when he thought he had enough he called it quits already.

all of the participantes complain not only of the hard stunt but also of the stinging cold.

in the end, marion and rj got the most number of yellow rubber rings, with 8 yellow rubber rings a piece. this sent the two other boys, jommy (who got 7 yellow rubber rings) and jose (who failed to get any rubber rings) to the third challenge. for the girls, savanah got 2 yellow rubber rings while phem got none. so the 3 challengers that would face off in the third challenge and are up for elimination are jommy, jose and phem.

survivor philippines: zita wins individual reward challenge

after 33 days, the castaways sees someone from home in the fourth individual reward challenge of survivor philippines. this week's challenge is a pair challenge, and their partners are someone from home. for zita, it is his son-in-law leo. for cris, it is his mother aida. for rob and charisse, it is their dads bobot and chito respectively. and for jc, it is his girlfriend alu. all of them became emotional after seeing their loved ones.

in this challenges, the survivors will be tied on the waist by a garterized rope and they will be blindfolded. they need to get 15 flags of their assigned colors and give them to their loved one who are standing on an elevated platform. their loved ones will be their guide and they will give the castaways directions on where their flags are. the loved one will also hang the flag on a rope. first to collect and hang 15 flags wins the reward.

the reward for the challenge is an overnight stay and tour in bangkok, thailand.

it was a pretty even match up until the final several minutes. since the castaways were tied in the waist, they had difficulty reaching the flags that are far from the platform. towards the end, it was a close match between zita, jc and cris; leaving charisse and rob on the tail end. it was surprising that rob got the least number of flags. in the end, it was zita who got the 15 flags first and was declared the winner.

zita also has an option to choose another castaway that would accompany them to bangkok. zita chose cris, who wanted it badly. so the ones going to bangkok are zita & leo and cris & aida. she also needs to choose a castaway that would have his loved one stay overnight at camp and experience camp life. he chose jc, and alu would spend the night at chalam camp.

will zita's choice to get cris be advantageous to her? or will charisse grab the chance to strategize with jc and rob to last long in the game?

survivor philippines: why kaye lost

kaye is one of the typical survivor beauties that can use her charms to go far in the game. being a lingerie model, kaye possesses a great body and a beautiful face to match. she also had a strong alliance with the other former naak members that carried her until after the merge. but with all of these, she was still voted out in the 11th tribal council.

so why did kaye lose?

first, kaye has been a non-factor in the individual challenges. kaye is the only female castaway that did not win an individual challenge and the only castaway in the final 6 with no challenge win. immunity is definitely an assurance of lasting long in the game and she never got one.

second, she dependended much on her naak alliance. she was not playing the game to the fullest up[ until the time that they voted out kiko. she was following what the naak boys were saying to her without an assurance that they would stick with her until the end. i think she had her strategy played too late in the game. she still needed marlon's convincing power to make her realize that she is on a disadvantage in her alliance.

third, she did not fully commit to her strategy. she succeeded in voting out kiko in the 8th tribal council. during that time, zita and jc was definitely next in line if she stuck with the jarakay tribe. but in the next tribal council, she again joined naak's alliance and voted out vern. if they chose to vote out zita or jc in that tribal council, it would be a different scenario and they would move to the power position in the tribe.

fourth, her credibility was definitely an issue after voting out kiko, and it never went away in naak's mind. until just before her being voted out, jc and rob really don't trust her and in this game, you should always know who trusts you and who you can trust.

if i were to choose the main reason why she was voted out, it would definitely be her lack of commitment to her strategy and playing it late and her credibility issue. if she only voted out zita or jc in the 9th tribal council, she can definitely in power at this stage of the game. but she played the game well, she thinks a lot, but she played the game too late.

survivor philippines: kaye is the 5th member of the jury

kaye alipio, the lingerie model from laguna, became the 5th jury member when she was voted out in the 11th tribal council in the first season of survivor philippines. the 20-year old calamba city native was voted out after a 4 - 2 vote in the tribal council, with 4 votes going to kaye and 2 votes going to charisse but 1 vote for charisse was cancelled due to the white pearl given to her by marlon in the last tribal council.

after she was voted out, paolo made her choose between giving a white pearl or a black pearl to a tribemate. kaye chose the black pearl and gave it to cris. the black pearl would guarantee 1 vote for him in the next tribal council but if he loses the pearl, he will have 2 votes guaranteed. during the tribal council, paolo also asked cris to never wear women's clothing again at the tribal council since tribal council is a serious matter. after the tribal council, cris threw away the black pearl that would guarantee him 2 votes in the next tribal council.

in her exit interview, kaye said that she expected that she was really indanger in that tribal council. she had no hard feelings regarding the decision of the tribe and she loves each and everyone of them.

pinoy fear factor: 4 participantes already safe, savanah faces cold bath consequence

in the first round of the tercera ronda de eliminacion or third round of elimination, the participantes faced a new challenge, auto rezbalacidos. in this challenge, the participantes starts from the driver seat with the car hanging several feet above ground with sprinklers giving off artificial rain. on the signal, the partcipante will go out of the car, proceed to the front and get the plate number. he will then move up the car, put the plate number inside the car and proceed to the back. he will get the key inserted on the keyhole on the trunk, get inside the driver's seat and start the car. time ends after they press the red button beside the car start key hole.

the current record for this challenge was set in fear factor hungary with a time of 3 minutes and 7 seconds. the 2 males and 2 females with the fastest time will be exempted for the next challenges. the one with the slowest time will have a consequence.

it was a great stunt for the participantes. five of the remaining 6 males beat the current record. manuel, elmer, rj, marion and jommy did it below 3 minutes. only savanah failed to finish the task. jommy got a penalty since the plate number fell to the ground and phem had 2 penalties for using the metal wire that suspends the car.

the final times for the challengers are as follows:

manuel and marion are the fastest among the males. among the females, it was lj and janna who posted the fastest times. all of them are already safe. it was savanah who are the least successful in the challenge and earns a consequence.

as a consequence, savanah needs to take a bath in front of the other participantes using cold water. she needs to choose a male participante that would help her. she can't choose anyone but the other participantes was pushing for jose to help her. in the end, ryan assigned jose to assist her. back at camp, savanah executed the task with ease. it was jose that was nervous and even admitted at staring ata savanah's chest.

survivor philippines: jc wins 5th individual immunity challenge

this week's immunity challenge is a 4 stage challenge. in the first stage, the survivors will climb up a wall then swing into a cargo net. they eed to cross to the other end of the cargo net and get a flag and run to a mat. first four castaway to step on the mat with a flag advances to the next round.

on the second stage, survivor will swim to floating bamboos. they need to cross over each bundle of bamboos. on the last bamboo, they need to get a yellow flag and return to the shore using the same process, crossing over each bamboo bundle. first three castaway to step on the mat advances to the third round.

on the third round, castaway will dig 6 colored planks in a sandpit. first two castaway to dig all six planks and raise a flag advances to the last round, in the 4th stage, the castaway needs to match each plank to a step on the ladder. when all the planks are matched, he will climb the ladder and get the elephant on top of the ladder. first to get the lephant wins immunity.

it was a very physical challenge. on the first stage, jc got the early lead, followed by cris. charisse and kaye had a hard time climbing up the wall. jc finished the first round first, followed by cris, then zita. rob was the last one to qualify, eliminating charisse and kaye in this challenge.

the second round was a pretty much even round for all. all four reached the bamboos at almost the same time but they had difficulty detaching the flags in the last bamboo bundle. jc stepped on the mat first, followed closely by zita and cris qualified last. rob simply gave up when cris started swimming back to shore.

in the sandpit, all 3 remaining challengers had a hard time finding the planks. jc got a white plank first, then zita found a yellow one, leaving cris to find violet ones. to make things worse, cris got a big wound from the first round, making it so hard to dig. jc was the first one to complete all six planks and never looked back from that point on. he easily matched the planks and got the elephant, and win immunity.

it was jc's 2nd straight individual immunity challenge win. he will be safe from elimination in the next tribal council.

pinoy fear factor: record breaking performance from marion and manuel

participantes manuel and marion posted record-breaking performance in the first challenge of the tercera ronda de eliminacion or third round of elimination. the challenge is titled auto resbalazidos. in this challenge, the participantes starts from the driver seat with the car hanging several feet above water with sprinklers giving off artificial rain. on the signal, the partcipante will go out of the car, proceed to the front and get the plate number. he will then move up the car, put the plate number inside the car and proceed to the back. he will get the key inserted on the keyhole on the trunk, get inside the driver's seat and start the car. time ends after they press the red button beside the car start key hole.

the one with the fastest time wins the challenge. record time so far for this challenge is 3minutes and seven seconds posted from fear factor hungary.

marion was the fourth person to try the challenge. he was fast but had difficulty on the first part. he also tried entering the passenger side window after getting the keys from the trunk. ryan informed him that he should enter the car through the driver's side. so he lost some seconds but still manage to finish in about 2 minutes.

manuel was the first one to do the challenge. he was afraid that others can watch and copy his strategy. he lost some seconds at the start because he thought that the signal given by ryan was for the sprinklers to start. he did the challenge effortlessly and quickly. he finished with a time of 44 seconds, way better than the previous record.

three other participantes have finished the challenge. jommy dropped the plate number at the start. lj finished the challenge after more than 3 minutes while phem finished after more than 4 minutes plus a penalty for using the metal rope that suspends the car during the challenge.

survivor philippines: rob wins fourth individual reward challenge

male cast aways continue to dominate the individual reward challenges. after 2 wins from jc and a win for cris, rob now barges into the winners' circle by claiming the victory in the foruth individual reward challenge on day 31 of survivor philippines.

this week's reward challenge is a mental challenge. survivors first listened to a story about the curse of the island of langkawi. after listening, they need to carry a torch to one of five stations. on each station, they need to answer a question and choose between the two choices given. after they answer, they get a package from the container that corresponds to the answer that they chose. if they answered it correctly, the package will contain a shell necklace. they have to wear it and proceed to the next station. if they answered incorrectly, they will get a different necklace that they have to wear, proceed to the center of the playing field and burn the necklace before proceeding to another station. first castaway to get all 5 necklaces and give them to paolo wins reward.

the reward for this challenge is 50 thousand pesos that the cast away's family in the philippines will receive after the show.

after the story was told, jc, cris and rob immediately got a necklace. the girls followed soon. it was pretty much even with almost all castaways getting incorrect answers every now and then. it was a neck to neck match with the 3 boys and zita having earned 4 necklaces each. zita first found her last station and then rob. zita answered correctly but did not realize that she already completed all necklaces. rob then got his last necklace and was the first one to give the necklaces to paolo, who declared rob as the winner.

as an additional reward, rob was made to choose between milk, coffee and sugar for the whole tribe or 2 blankets that he can only give to one cast away. rob chose milk, coffee and sugar to the delight of the other cast aways.

survivor philippines: why marlon lost

marlon carmen is definitely one of the best players this season in survivor philippines. he has gained the trust of two alliances while in jarakay tribe and played both alliances. he escaped 3 elimination weeks after the merge and even convinced cris and kaye to vote against the naak alliance. he definitely came prepared and was focused on winning. but he was voted out on the show's tenth tribal council and became the fourth jury member.

so why did marlon lose the game?

first, he was definitely viewed as a strategic threat. as i have said, he has made the most strategic moves in this game. he played two alliances, dictated the voting out order in jarakay, convinced kaye and cris to vote on their side and blindside kiko and did really everything to stay in the game. his mind works really hard and he really played a mind game.

second, despite his strategy, jarakay really was in a disadvantage in numbers. having the numbers advantage in the merge would give you a clear advantage. jarakay entered the merge down by 2 people, 6 to 4. first voted out was jace, then after two weeks was vern. since none of the 2 remaining jarakay members won immunity, it was logical that one of them was going home.

third, he failed to break the naak alliance. despite winning over cris and kaye in the 8th tribal council and voted out kiko, he never really won the trust of the 2. after jc shared the reward with them in the next reward challenge, the 2 went back to the original naak alliance. he tried to win zita but her loyalty was definitely on the naak side. his credibility also worsened when he told cris that zita was angry with jc and she wants him out.

fourth, he was viewed as the antagonist in the island. the way he played the game was really off in some aspects and may be unacceptable to many. he surely gained enemies while in the island and even had fans hate him after watching the show. but however he plays the game, he surely lasted long despite being hated.

with all of this into consideration, i think the main reason why he lost was that even with his superb strategic skills, he failed to break the naak alliance which lead to his downfall. i admire his never say die attitude and for giving it his all until the end. i think he is the only survivor that was voted out that can say that he did everything in his powers to stay in the game.

survivor philippines: marlon carmen becomes 4th member of the jury

after 30 days on the island, marlon carmen became the fourth jury member of the first season of survivor philippines during the 10th tribal council in the island. the chalam tribe voted unanimously against marlon, with a vote of 6 - 1 - 1. marlon got all 6 votes from the other cast aways, cris got marlon's vote and charisse have 1 point from the curse of the black pearl which vern gave her from the previous tribal council.

marlon was voted out despite his threat that he have hidden the flint and killed all fire at camp. he also had a fight with cris at camp just before the tribal council due to the way marlon is cooking the so-called jarakay soup.

marlon has been the popular antagonist of the show. many fans have hated him because of the way he played the game and his attitude towards other cast aways. but despite all of these, he is undoubtedly the most strategic player. he played 2 alliances while in the jarakay tribe. he escaped several weeks of elimination and even convinced kaye and cris to break the naak alliance and vote out kiko. but he still fell short of winning the game.

a new twist was also introduced last night. instead of a black pearl, a white pearl was given to marlon. who ever has the white pearl would have a -1 vote on the next tribal council or one vote against that person will be nullified. but if that cast away loses the pearl, it would have no effect. marlon gave the black pearl to the only remaining jarakay member, charisse.

after 2 weeks of airing, pinoy fear factor will move to a new timeslot starting today, november 24. it will now be aired on a later timeslot, after telenovela kahit isang saglit. it will now have the same timeslot as that of its rival reality show in the other network, survivor philippines. it will test survivor philippines fan base, after maintaining a rating of more than 30 percent over the past few weeks over the new audience share that pinoy fear factor is gaining. will survivor philippines' elimination win over pinoy fear factor's record setting performance from a participante? will this move improve abs cbn's ratings? let's see...

shall we dance: joseph bitangcol & hannah mariano becomes the first pair in the finals

joseph bitangcol & dance partner hannah mariano became the 1st pair to qualify to the finals of the new season of shall we dance, the seasrch for the next dance superstar. on the third week of elimination, each pair is given a country that they would need to use as inspiration. brazilian japanese model akihiro sato & partner vicky huyatid got africa, baroon geisler & partner michelle valdez got japan and joseph & hannah got philippines.

in the end, joseph got the highest score of 8.33, way ahead of akihiro's score of 7.50 and baron's score of 7.17. joseph top all 3 weeks of competition for this batch. new set of dace contenders will be introduced next week for the second batch.

survivor philippines: cast offs guests in tok! tok! tok! isang milyon pasok

six cast offs from survivor philippines played in the latest episode of tok! tok! tok! isang milyon pasok! which is also hosted by survivor philippines host paolo bediones. the blue team is composed of jury members jace & vern, yellow team was made up of cast offs kiko & patani and the red team is composed of john & nikki. they are also playing for their respective charities.

kiko answered the first 3 questions and patani successfully executed the first two challenges, the snapping turtle challenge and the cobra challenge. they challenged john and nikki in the third task, which is to lift a sumo player 6 feet above the ground. nikki & john failed to complete the task.

john answered the next question correctly and all teams bid on how fast they can finish a meal composed of rats and frogs. vern & jace won the bidding, they need to finish the meal at 1minute and 45 seconds. they were able to finish it just in time. kiko then answered the next question and they eventually reached the finish line and advanced to the jackpot round.

jace & vern won 10 thousand pesos for their charities while john & nikki failed to win anything.

kiko & patani played in the jackpot round and chose the door marked with a star. they were able to double their initial money of 40 thousand pesos. their charity won 80 thousand pesos and a computer set.

in another show, cast offs nina and chev guested in all star k, the 1 million pesos videoke challenge. in a episode where the contestants are look a likes, nina is paired with sexbomb mia and chev was paired with sexbomb izzy. both failed to win the contest. chev was eliminated in round 2 and nina was eliminated on the next round.

ram sagad, the second eliminated participante of pinoy fear factor, guested on the buzz after being eliminated last friday. he cleared out the issue on the ring that rj gave him before he left camp. the ring was a thank you gift since rj was borrowing some things from him such as shoes and thermal clothing. it was just a sign of appreciation and no malice intended. it was also revealed that ram already appeared in the abs cbn show lastikman as brix, one of the antagonists. ram also confirmed that he will accept any offer that may come his way after the show.

all 12 participantes also guested in asap 2008. they danced together with mickey perz, gab valenciano, rayver cruz and gercel. the girls danced way better than the guys and among the guys, it was jommy and manuel who danced better.

pinoy fear factor: ram sagad is the second participante eliminated

this week's third el;imination challenge is entitled acrobacias en helicoptero. in this challenge, the participantes will hold on to a trapeze attached to a helicopter. their aim is to hold as long as possible on the trapeze while the helicopter is moving over the waters. time stops when both hands are off the trapeze. this is a test of upper body strength and endurance.

first up was elmer. elmer had the right idea on what to do. he keeps his head over the trapeze and keeps himself closer to the helicopter. he keeps pulling himself up but eventually had a hard time when the helicopter star moving laterally, tossing him from one side to the other. he stayed up for 38 seconds and he had a hard fall on the water, complining of pain on the abdominal area but subsided after some time.

up next was jose who did the same strategy as that of elmer. but he stayed up longer than elmer and stayed on the trapeze for 49 seconds. up next was jommy. jommy planned to hold on the trapeze with a closed fist but ryan reminded him that he should face where the helicopter is facing. so he changd his plan. hold on the trapeze and curled like a ball. it was effective at first but he also had difficulty when he started swaying from side to side. he finished with a timne of 39 seconds, 1 second longer than elmer.

now it is only between ram and elmer. ram had a bit of disadvantage since he was taller than the rest of the 3 participantes. ram used the same strategy as jommy used, curling like a ball while holding the trapeze. but when he started swaying from one side to another, he had a hard time keeping the position. he fell onto the water only after 30 seconds.

since he had the shortest time, ram sagad is the second participante to be eliminated. elmer cried when ryan announced that he was safe. during the elimination challenge last week, he said that he never wants to be on the elimination challenge again. but due to the conditions and his sickness the night before, he still was included in the ones up for elimination. as ryan said, he can be considered as a beterano, having performed all 6 challenges in pinoy fear factor.

amazing race asia season 3: sam & vince are declared the winner

sam and vince of hong kong became the official winners of the third season of the amazing race asia. the best friends from hong kong bested 9 other teams for the title after 11 grueling legs to win one hindred thousand us dollars. finishing second was the dating couple from the philippines, geoff rodriguez and tisha silang. third place is malaysia's ida & tania.

the last leg was a race from oman to thailand. in oman, the teams were pretty much even out due to the hard driving conditions and all of the teams had a hard time driving on sand. on the fligh from oman to thailand, ida & tania failed to secure the same flight as that of the 2 other teams, sealing their fate in the competition. in thailand, it was a toss up between geoff & tisha and sam & vince. but geoff & tisha got lost because their taxi driver did not know where the ice factory was located. sam & vince never looked back and eventually checked in first on the mat in the last pit stop of the race, rang yai beach in phuket thailand.

pinoy fear factor: savanah wins second challenge for week 2, four boys up for elimination

the 2nd challenge for the participantes for week 2 is called cerebros de ojos de ovejas. in this challenge, the staff prepared a special breakfast for the participantes. first, the participantes would drink a glass of milk. after finishing the whole glass, they will see what they will try to finish in this meal. the choices were sheep's brain and eyes, and the amounts of which will also vary. the ones with the fastest time will be safe and the bottom 4 will compete in the final elimination challenge. to add up to the challenge, they should keep the food on their stomach up until the last person is finished. if they vomit, they will be included in the bottom group.

first up was rj. rj will eat half of a brain and 3 sheep eyes. rj had an easy time on the brain but had a hard time on the eyes. he evntually finished after about 2 minutes. jose was up next. he will eat the same meal as rj. jose also had a hard time on the sheep's eyes. he also finished but was evidently slower than rj. savanah was the first female particiante to try the challenge. she was lucky since she will only eat half of a sheep's brain. she ravaged on the brain quickly and finished with only a minute and 9 seconds on the clock.

next up was jommy. jommy was concerned on eating the brain because it contains fats and he des not eat fats. he will eat 1 whole brain and 2 eyes. he really had a hard time finishing the brain but eventually finished after more than 5 minutes. elmer also picked up the same meal as that f jommy. he also had a hard time finishing the meal, especially the eyes. he finished slower than all of the other participantes.

janna was up next. she finished after a little over 4 minutes. last on the table was ram. he was tasked to eat only half of a sheep's brain, the same as savanna's. but surprisingly, he had a hard time keeping it down. he finished after almost 5 minutes, way over savana's time.

when their times were announced, savanah was declared the challenge's winner. also safe from elimination were rj and janna. the four participantes that will participate in the last challenge are elmer, ram, jose and jommy. this is their first elimination challenge, except for elemer since this is his 2nd time.

survivor philippines: jc wins fourth individual immunity challenge

this week's individual immunity challenge is a three stage challenge. first, all remaining 7 cast aways will run to their respective stations and answer 5 questions. all questions are answerable by a number and are about the past challenges. once completed, they will perform the required mathematical operation and find the scroll with the answer. if the answer is correct, they will get a metal key. if wrong, a wood key will be inside the scroll. they will open a lock and launch a flag. first three cast aways will advance to the next round.


in the second stage, the cast away need to finish a rope course. after that, they need to answer another series of questions just like in the first round. after they launch their flag, they need to transport 3 pails of rocks from the starting line to the finish point using only 3 poles and a flat board. first person to cross the finish line wins immunity.


before the start of the challenge, paolo showed them a 10 second message from home. for charisse, it was his brother and mother. for jc and marlon, messages came from their girlfriends. for kaye and cris, it was from their mothers. for rob, it was his brother and for zita, it's from her bestfriend. as an additional reward, the winner will hear the whole message.

all castaways had a hard time figuring out the answers to the questions on the first station. it was kaye who first answered all questions correctly. she is the first one to do the rope course. she was halfway to the course when jc finished the questions, and seconds after, it was marlon who qualified. the other cast aways are eliminated.

on the rope course, kaye finished first followed closely by jc. marlon finished the course quickly and all of them proceeded to the 2nd set of questions. it was again kaye who finished first and jc followed soon. kaye had a hard time pulling those stones and jc took over the lead. jc never looked back and eventually won immunity.

paolo then informed jc that he can choose two other castaways that will also watch their whole message. jc chose cris and marlon. as an additional reward, jc had a chance to call his girlfriend in the philippines which was cuortesy of smart.

pinoy fear factor: 4 participantes are safe, janna and jommy finishes last

the first challenge for the second week of elimination in pinoy fear factor is entitled as coglares como tarzan, or in tagalog; paglipat lipat sa lubid ala tarzan. the challenge course is a beam with a series of 8 evenly spaced rope suspended over water. each challenger should traverse the course from the start platform to the end platform by transfering from one rope to another, just as tarzan does to get from one point of the jungle to another.

basis of ranking will be the number of ropes used and in case of ties, the time consumed will be used to break it. the top 2 girls and top 2 guys will be safe and will not participate in the next 2 challenges. the least successful guy and girl will have a consequence.

jommy was the one who went first. he was still thinking of how to do it properly and ended up falling after only 4 ropes with a time of 1 minute and 22 seconds. rj was up next, who finished the stunt in three minutes and 21 seconds. janna was the first female to do the task. she was really at a lost in this challenge and was only able to hang on 1 rope wih a time of 1 minute and 30 seconds.

marion, who was fesh from a near-elimination experience las week gave a strong performance and managed to finish the stunt in only 50 seconds. lj then tried the course, while her argentine crush was cheering for her. she almost finished the course, and able to use 7 ropes in more then 2 minutes. ram was up next and was also able to reach the 7th rope with almost the same time as lj. elmer, another one fresh from the elimination, vowed not to be in the bottom 3 again, also failed to finish the stunt. he only managed to reach the 6th rope.

aspiring chef jose was the next to try the course. he was also able to finish the stunt with a faster time than rj, finishing it in only 2minutes and 11 seconds. the remaining 2 girls were the next on the challenge and both did not finish the task. savannah was able to hang on until the 3rd rope and phem was able to reach the 4th rope. phem was bragging that he did better than jommy since her time was faster and her shoes was slipping on the rope. the last participante to do the task was manuel, who also finished the task with the fastest time, at 47 seconds.

the 2 guys that were exempted in the next rounds were manuel (47 seconds) and marion (50 seconds). jose and rj also finished the stunt but had a slower time. the top 2 females were lj (reached the 7th rope) and phem (reached 4th rope). the bottom 2 were janna for the girls and jommy for the boys.

as ryan had previously mentioned, the consequences can be hard or can be humiliating. but in this case, it will be hard and humiliating. the 2 participantes need to perform back at camp in front of the other participantes. one will host the show and the other will dance naked. as voted by the other participantes, janna will be the one to host the show and jommy will dance naked.

survivor philippines: cris wins individual reward challenge

male cast aways continue their dominance in the individual reward challenges. after 2 weeks of wins by jc tiuseco, it was cris who wins the third individual reward challenge in day 28 of survivor philippines. the reward challenge was a spear throwing challenge. the cast aways will each throw a spear into a big target in the sand. the survivor with the arrow nearest the bulls eye wins.

The reward was to choose which castaway eats which meal. seven meals were shown before the challenge. the meals were steak meal with bottomless mountain dew, teriyaki burger with fries and a glass of mountain dew, pizza and pasta plus a glass of mountain dew, dried fish and tomato plus a glass of pepsi, camote plus a glass of pepsi max, tamarind and a glass of 7up and a plate of salt and a glass of water.

cris won the spear throwing part, marlon was a close second place. when cris chose which person eats which meal, it was evident that chalam was still divided into naak and jarakay. cris chose the steak for himself. he gace zita the burger while kaye got pizza and pasta. jc was given the ddried fish and rob got the camote. as expected, the 2 ex-jarakay members got the least appetizing dishes. marlon got the tamarind and charisse got the salt.

american idol 7: 3 american idol alumni will perform in manila

three american idol alumni will perform in manila in the coming weeks. they are austalian michael john, filinpina ramielle malubay and her best friend danny noriega.

michael johns will have a sereies of shows at the ayala malls as he had confirmed in his recent guesting at asap 08 where he sang with yeng constantino, rachelle ann go and sarah geronimo. his show's schedule is as follows:

november 18, 2008 - trinoma activity center, 7pm
november 19, 2008 - glorietta activity center
november 20, 2008 - alabang town center activity center, 6:30pm
november 21, 2008 - greenbelt greenbelt 3, park, 7pm

on the other hand, ramielle malubay and danny noriega will perform together at ogie alcasid's concert. titled as "the idol experience: ogie sings with the idol", ogie, who is a judge in the local version of the hit show, will perform with ramielle, danny and the 12 pinoy idol finalists. the show will be on december 21 and 22, 8pm at the aliw theater.

shall we dance: joyce jimenez eliminated

the original pantasya ng bayan joyce jimenez was eliminated from the dance reality show shall we dance, the search for the next dance superstar. joyce was eliminated after 2 weeks of competition for the first group on its new season.

for this week, the competition was an 80's showdown. the contestants was tasked to dance to the dance hits of the 80's decade. first up was last week's top placer joseph bitangcol and partner hannah marciano. they danced to the wham hit classic wake me up before you go go. their energy was high but there was some misses and joseph keeps on looking at his partner as if asking her what' s the next step?

second on the dance floor was model akihiro sato and dance partner vicky huyatid. they danced to the tune of "you drive e crazy" of shakin' stevens (am i right?). akihiro still looks awkward at some steps but the routine was okay. next was joyce jimenez with partner jc maralit. they dance to the tune of "physical" by olivia newton-john. the ourtine was okay but quite easy. they said that they cannot execute some of the lifts because they are afraid that it might hurt joyce because of her back condition.

last on the dance floor was baron geisler and dance partner michelle valdez. they danced to the tune of "sometimes a fantasy" of billy joel. the routine was agreat improvement from last week. baron moved a lot and even performed cartwheels. the energy was also high and they continued without missing a beat even though baron lost a boot.

the challengers were then split into 2 groups based on the average of the 2 weeks performances. on the first group was joseph and baron. on the second group was akihiro and joyce. the first group was immediately sent to safety. and joyce was then eliminated. final scores were: joseph & hannah - 8.17, baron & michelle - 7.58, akihiro & vicky - 7.40 and joyce & jc - 7.30.

survivor philippines: vern is dating fellow castaway, kiko has a 9-year old child

after being eliminated and becoming jury members, cast offs kiko rustia and veronica domingo guested in showbiz central last sunday. kiko cleared the issue on why he gave the black pearl to rob. he said that he really thought that rob voted against him and he apologized for it. vern, on the other hand, was asked on what happened in the last reward challenge. she was voted as the stinkiest survivor. she said that it is due to the weeks of no shower in the island. naak members won a shower reward so i think its clear that they smell better than the ex-jarakay members.

they then chose between killer task and killer question. both of them chose killer question. for kiko, he was asked if it was true that he already has a child. he confirmed the news that he already has a 9-year old son and if he would date any woman, it is a requirement that they should love his child too. for vern, she was asked if it is true that she is dating another cast away. she also confirmed the news but divulged that it is not jace. kiko also said that it was not him. she also said that she still cannot say who he is. i think he is still in the game that is why she cannot say who it is. my instinct is that this it is jc that she is refering to.

pinoy fear factor: gail nicolas now in dyosa

gail nicolas, the first participante to be eliminated in pinoy fear factor, happily announced in her guesting in the showbiz talk show the buzz that she will be appearing in the primetime teleserye dyosa. her role will be a mermaid. she also divulged some things regarding the new reality show. she said that she has to go home to the philippines immediately after her elimination and she did not get any prize after the show.

she also said that even with her good looks, she is still single and she also appeared in the movie "very special love" where she worked with her showbiz crush, john lloyd cruz. when asked what she learned during her 1 week stay in argentina, she said that in every competition, there is always someone better than you.

survivor philippines: why veronica lost

veronica domingo has a heart of a champion. being a taekwondo champion for years, she has been very focused and discplined. she has the looks, she has the stamina and she is determined. she went to the island for nothing else but to become the first sole survivor in survivor philippines. but she was eliminated and became the third jury member.

so why did vern lose?

first, she was a physical threat. in all challenges, vern was simply dominating all of them. she definitely is the strongest female castaway out there. she has the focus and the determination to beat them all. and she proved it in the hai pillow challenge where she out hustled not only the girls but also the boys. she out endured all of them in the second individual immunity challenge, standing on the rung for more than 4 hours with out any sign of discomfort. she is really awesome in challenges.

second, she was a mental player and a threat. she thinks about things thoroughly without deciding on what to do next and who to vote. her quietness in the camp makes her so unpredictable. and you never want anyone to plan behind your back without knowing it.

third, jarakay definitely has the disadvantage in terms of numbers. from the merge, jarakay has only 4 members and naak has 6. jace was the first to go but they were able to get rid of kiko next. now that the remaining naak members were able to talk things over, marlon and charisse are definitely next to go.

fourth, she had no strong alliance left in the game. her original alliance was the muscle group in jarakay: jace, gigit, john, vern and marlon. but marlon is also on the girls alliance and he is more into this alliance. ith all the other allies of her gone, she then went to go with marlon and charisse since its the lkogical thing to do. bu she was not completely into it, saying that she is not trusting anybody in the game.

for me, the main reason for her loss is her being a big physical threat and jarakay having the numbers disadvantage. she shown great physical strength and mental toughness that has threathened all the other survivors. and its the best time to eliminate her, because if not, she can win all the next immunity challenges.

survivor philippines:veronica becomes the third jury member

after a shocking elimination of kiko last week, veronica domingo was eliminated in survivor philippines. her elimination came after a 5 - 4 vote in the tribal council. all the former naak tribe members voted for her while all the ex-jarakay members voted for rob plus the black pearl vote.

before the tribal council, the individual immunity challenge was shown. this week's immunity challenge involves finding 7 colored blocks in a big playing field, hidden among the trees and bushes. each cast away has their own assigned color. each block has thai characters on it, each representing a day of the week. after collecting all 7 tiles, they must arrange the blocks in order to win immunity. the arrangement was shown for 20 seconds before the game starts and a cheat table is provided 200 meters from the game station.

all of the cast aways had an easy time finding the first 5 blocks but had difficulty finding the 2 more blocks. all of the first 5 were hidden under the trees. they did not notice that there were blocks on top of the branches. it was vern who first completed all 7 tiles but was not able to arrange them in order. she decided to go to the cheat table. next to complete the 7 tiles was zita but was also not able to arrange the blocks properly. charisse then completed the blocks and arranged them in order to win immunity.

all the individual immunity challenges so far has been won by girls. zita won the first one, vern wn last week and charisse won it this week. kaye is the only female cast away without a win in individual immunity challenge.

at camp, marlon causes some trouble by saying to cris that zita was angry at jc because he did not choose her for the reward after promising it to her. but when cris confronted zita and she denied it. the naak tribe knew that it was the best time to eliminate vern since she is a strong competitor in challenges. the jarakay voted for rob since he has an extra vote because of the black pearl.

after her elimination, veronice gave the black pearl to another ex-jarakay member, charisse.

pinoy fear factor: gail nicolas eliminated

gail nicolas became the first participante to go home after the elimination challenge in episode 5 of pinoy fear factor. after the girls dominated the first two elimination round, gail failed to sweep it sice she was unable to finish the las task, which prompted to her elimination.

the challenge is named as escape de auto subacuatico. the challenge starts with the participante on the driver's seat of the car and a doll on the backseat. the car would be fully submerged in water. on a signal, the participante will go out of the car and open the back door, he must get the doll, go out of the water and put the doll on the designated place. the one with the slowest time will be eliminated.

marion was up first. he had a difficult time opening the back door of the car which lost him some seconds but still finished the task with a time of 30 seconds. elmer was up next. his nose clip was detached from his nose after he took his last breath. he had difficulty controlling his breathing after that but still finished the task faster than marion, finishing after only 25 seconds.

gail was the last person to perform the task. she had an easy time getting out of the car and opening the back door. but when she was getting the doll, it got stuck on the straps of the baby carrier. she pulled the doll several times but it was really tangled up. she ran out of air and eventually was unable to finish the challenge.

in all three challenges this week, gail was in the bottom 3. she was second to the last in the first challenge, having retrieved no flags but was up in the barrel longer than rj. she was the slowest in the second task and was not able to finish the last stunt.

gail nicolas is a 25 yer old model and tv actress. she won the 2007 mossimo bikini summit. she was formemrly a member of the volleyball team of the university of santo tomas during college. she is the breadwinner of his family and is supporting her brother's schooling. she was one no. 63 in top 100 sexiest of fhm philippines. some says that she looks like gma 7's marian rivera. she is currently in the cast of tv 5's rakista, which is top billed by carlo aquino.

pinoy fear factor: jana wins second challenges, 3 participantes battle for elimination

in the second challenge, entitled ojos de vaca en cangrejos, the participantes will go one by one and roll a dice. the choice will be either eyes or crabs. if the dice will show eyes, the participantes will transfer 5 cow eyes from a container with cow eyes and lots of little crabs to an empty container. if the dice will show crab, the participante needs to transfer 10 crabs from the same vessel to the empty container.

during the challenge, it was evident that the crabs was a lot faster to do than eyes. in eyes, you still need to find the eyes that was hidden beneath lots of crabs. even with the numbers disadvantage (10 vs 5), it was definitely an easier task. here are the result of the challenge:

janna won the challenge. the women are kicking the men's butts. 2 challenges in a row that the women won. the three up for elimination are gail, marion and elmer.

amazing race asia season 3: ad and fuzzie eliminated, final 3 racers revealed

the singaporean friends ad and fuzzie became the 7th team to be eliminated in what is dubbed as "the toughest race ever", the amazing race asia season 3. the singaporean duo came in last after the 10th leg, which covers india and oman. their elimination came after a non-elimination leg in leg 9 in which they also came in last. they had a 30 minute penalty since they did not come in first. they also did not finish the roadblock since fuzzie gave up halfway through the challenge. they also incurred a four hour penalty for this.

with their elimination, the season's final three teams that would battle it out for the grand prize was revealed. the three teams were ida & tania of malaysia, geoff & tisha of the philippines and sam & vince of hong kong. the finale will be aired next week on axn.

project runway philippines: aries lagat is the winner of project runway philippines

after weeks of anticipation, aries lagat of iligan city became the winner of the first season of project runway philippines. aries beat fellow designers philip tampus of cebu and veejay floresca of makati. the results were announced after the final runway show held during the philippine fashion week at sm mall of asia.

first up during the show was philip. philip's inspiration was her mother's love for crochet. he incorporated crochet like designs on his creations and his pieces were the most detail-intensive among the three creations. most of his creations are on the lighter shades of white, beige and browns.

second on the runway was veejay. veejay's collection was the simplest among the three collection. but veejay knows how to make his creations look elegant and sophisticated. his collection was well executed and he considered consumer preference and marketability of the pieces which is a plus. his collection was mainly on browns and grays.

last and definitely not the least was aries. aries' collection, which he titled as "more than a woman"; was the most polished among the three designers. it was very modern looking and was definitely sophisticated. it was on the darker side of gray and black but still on the neutral range.

guest judges during the final runway show were shoe designer cesar gaupo and famous accessories designer rafe totengco. the in house judges were designer rajo laurel, model apples aberin-sahdwani and host teresa herrera with jojie lloren.

survivor philippines: jc wins 2nd individual reward challenge

this week's individual reward challenge is the same challenge used as the reward challenge in episode 12 of survivor micronesia. in this challenge, each of the castaways needs to answer a survey in private. their answers would then be collected and tallied. the questions will again be read one by one and the castaways needs to guess what the answer of the majority is. everytime the castaway answers correctly, he gets a chance to cut a rope that connects to another castaway's effigy. each castaway has 3 ropes, when all of them is cut, the effigy would fall into a fire pit and that castaway is out. the last castaway with the effigy intact is the winner.

the first question was sino sa mga survivors and may sama ka ng loob? the correct answer was marlon and jc. all of them except vern got it correctly. cris, kaye and zita all cut marlon's ropes, sending him out of the challenge. charisse chose rob while rob and jc cut charisse's ropes.

the second question was sinong castaway ang nasa loob ang kulo? the correct answer was rob. only charisse, rob and vern got this correctly. charisse targeted cris' effigy, then rob cut charisse's last rop. charisse was the 2nd person eliminated. vern then cut rob's first rope.

the third question was sino sa mga castaways ang nagpapanggap na walang alam sa larong survivor? the majority answered cris and zita. all of them got this correctly. cris, kaye and zita all went for vern's ropes, lesading to her elimination. rob cut kaye's rope and jc went for cris.

the next question was sino sa mga castaways ang walang silbi sa camp? the majority choice was kaye. only cris and jc got this correct. both of them went for kaye's rope and she was eliminated. the next question was sino sa mga castaways ang pinakamabaho? and majority answered marlon and vern. cris cut zita's first rope. zita returned the favor and eliminated cris. jc then cut rob's last rope and eliminated him.

only 2 castaways are left, zita and jc. zita has 2 ropes remaining while jc has all 3 of them still in place. the next question was sino sa mga castaways ang walang chance manalo sa survivor? both of them answered marlon and that is the correct answer. each of them cut each other's ropes.

the next question was sino sa mga castaways ang pinagkakatiwalaan mo? zita answered kaye and jc answered zita. the majority answered zita and jc cuts the last rope of zita. jc wins reward!

the reward was a scroll that would be kept tied until he is given the signal to do so. they were then tasked to cook dinner with maggi magic sarap. they were given pork, fish, chicken and vegtables that they would bring back to camp. they need to cook all of them but they are not allowed to taste the food while they were cooking. they opted to cook nilaga, adobo, grilled fish and liempo and vegetables.

after they were ready, paolo arrived at their camp and asked jc to open the scroll. the reward was to choose 3 castaways and get all the food that they cooked and transfer to another island where they will stay. jc chose kaye, cris and rob. leaving zita with the ex-jarakay castaways.

pinoy fear factor: phem wins first challenge, rj gains punishment after last place finish

the last to try the first challenge is former wowowee host janna dominguez, who said that she will go for 8 flags. after a shaky start, janna seems to got the rhythm but fell into the water after getting her first flag. she also got only 1 flag. this means that phem wins since she is the only participante to get 2 flags.

for the last place, it was gail and rj who got no flags in this challenge. in this case, the person who stayed on the barrel the longest will be safe. gail's time was 1 minute 29 seconds. rj stayed on the barrel for only 22 seconds. since rj is in last place, he will have a consequence. he will have to walk back to the camp alone from the challenge area. he successfully completed the task but it was already dark when he arrived.

the next day, ryan informed tham that their argentina experience won't be complete unless they learn tango. they needed to dress up formally but rj did not bring any formal clothes. so marion lend him one of his own and rj appreciated the gesture so much.

the 12 particpantes than went to la venta tango where they were greeted by valeria, who also welcomed ryan at the airport when he arrived. they learned basic tango. some pairings that were shown were phem & ram, gail & elmer and savannah & marion. they then watched professional tango dancers perform while eating dinner.

on their way out, the particpantes passed by 4 argentine guys whose attention was caught by savannah's presence. they greeted her and /talked in spanish. not understanding what these men were talking about, savannah ignored them but one of them said "how much?" which was quite insulting to savannah. the guys said that if there was a bottle in sight, they could have broken that bottle on the man's head.

the next day was a day for another challenge. they arrived in setia, where the argentine national soccer team practices. this is where the next challenge will occur. as a reward, phem will not participate in this challenge. she was left in camp so she can rest.

the challenge is entitled ojos de vaca en cangrejos. the participantes will go one by one and roll a dice. the choice will be either eyes or crabs. if the dice will show eyes, the participantes will transfer 5 cow eyes from a container with cow eyes and lots of little crabs to an empty container. if the dice will show crab, the participante needs to transfer 10 crabs from the same vessel to the empty container.

4 particpantes were shown doing the task. gail went up first, and got eyes. she transfered the 5 cow eyes with a time of 2 minutes, 46 seconds. rj was the one who tried next. after a loss, rj was really eager to have a win. his dice showed eyes and he did it in approximately 40 seconds. veterinarian elmer was up next and also did eyes. she did it in more than a minute but faster than gail. savannah was next and also got eyes. surprisingly, she did better than rj and did the challenge in approximately 30 seconds.

the other particpantes will be shown tonight and a sneak peek of the next challenge was also shown. its a rescue challenge where they need to rescue a doll which is in the back seat of a car fully submerged in water.

here is a partial transcript of the live chat that happened yesterday with survivor philippines jury members jace flores and kiko rustia. the live chat started late. it started at about 3pm versus the scheduled 2pm due to some technical difficulties. but the long wait was worth it since among the live chats so far, kiko and jace answered the most questions. this is a partial transcript only since i had to rush to a meeting at 4pm and went back at 6pm, only to find out that the chat was still on going.

both of them answered 3 of my questions each, but some of the more juicy questions were left unanswered. i also did not get a chance to participate in the live chat with both of them answering at the same time since i have to go home already. based on their answers, both of them are really nice persons. jace is more straightforward and he seems to less formal. kiko on the otherhand seems to be more uptight and is not answering the questions fully. but this is the best live chat so far.
