survivor philippines: who will be eliminated: kiko or marlon?

episode 40 of survivor philippines ended up with suspense. after reading the first 8 votes, marlon and kiko are tied with 4 votes each. and holding the last vote, paolo said "at ang sampung taong aalisin sa isla at ang ikalawang member ng ating jury..." then the closing credits showed up. so who will be voted out?

in my opinion, cris's vote is the deciding vote. after telling jarakay on night 22 that he would vote out kiko if he does not win immunity, cris's actions after the immunity challenge says otherwise. he talked too much with rob and it seems that he is still weighing his options. marlon is definitely next line in naak's pecking order since vern won immunity and it was evident in the votes.

but during the tribal council, paolo again stressed that kaye and kiko was not chosen by jc to go to the reward which was the reason why kaye and cris jumped to jarakay. sensing that they have decided who they will keep to the final 4, cris and kaye felt they would be the first to go if the 6 naak members are left. kaye was decided to make her move to last longer and cris soon followed.

so who do i think will go on monday? fearless forecast will be kiko. i am about 80% sure that kiko will go next. cris would definitely make his move to stay in the game longer. and this is the only time that he can do this. he should take advantage of this opportunity or he would not last long in the game if kiko survives. this is simply because the alliance of kiko, jc and rob will definitely look for the naak member that voted for kiko and cris and kaye would be their main suspect since they are the ones left with jarakay on night 22.

survivor philippines: veronica wins second individual immunity challenge

taekwondo champ veronica domingo won the second individual immunity challenge on day 23 of survivor philippines. the immunity challenge was an endurance challenge. a bahay kubo was set up on the beach with 9 partitions. each cast away will occupy one partition. on each side of the partitions are 3 rungs, one is 1 inch wide, another is 3/4 inch wide and the last is 1/2 inch wide. on paolo's que, the cast aways will step on the the 1 inch rung and avoid falling off. when a cast away falls off, he is out of the game. after 20 minutes, they would transfer to the 3/4 inch rung. after 20 more minutes, they will again transfer to the 1/2 inch rung. the last person on the rung will be declared the winner.

the first 20 minutes was quite easy for almost all the cast aways. but just before the first 20 minutes ended, paolo brought out a plate of chips and ice cold softdrink; which will go to the first person to quit. just after all of them transferred to the middle rung, rob stepped down and went for the plate of chips.

after 10 more minutes, paolo then offered a plate of spaghetti and drinks; which marlon accepted gladly. the remaining 7 cast aways all lasted the second round and eventually transferred to the last rung.

after 45 minutes, kiko then gave up. charisse was really struglling and eventually gave up after more than 50 minutes. then jc slipped just before the 1 hour mark. nanay zita soon followed the others after 1 hour and 46 minutes in the challenge.

paolo then offered a plate of fried chicken meal to the 3 remaining cast away just before the 2 hour mark. marlon immediately convinced kaye to come down, sensing that she is already struggling. kaye came down after 2 hours on the challenge.

cris and vern are the only ones left in the challenge. cris was doing this for his father, so he can be proud of him. another hour passed, cris was now in pain and vern is still calm and relaxed. vern even offered a handshake to cris. it was now dark and a bonfire was set up to light the challenge area. another hour passed and cris was really struggling and crying. saying that his father would get angry if he quits. but he evntually called it quits and stepped down, giving vern the immunity.

vern is the second female castaway to win the individual immunity, after zita won iundividual immunity on day 20. looks like the girls are performing better than the male cast aways in immunity challenges.

amazing race asia season 3: ad & fuzzie escapes elimination

the singapore team of ad & fuzzie escaped elimination in the ninth leg of the third season of amazing race asia. after finishing the leg last, they arrived at the pitstop and was informed that the leag was a predetermined non-elimination leg and as a consequence, they need to check in first in the next leg or they will incur a 30 minute penalty.

geoff & tisha, who was first in the last leg almost checked in last. they got lucky because sam & vince and ida & tania did not use the u-turn, which would make them finish the other detour. ida & tania actually liked to use the u-turn but they forgot to bring their picture with them. geoff and tisha then used the u turn since they know that they are battling third place with ad & fuzzie.

the final rankings for this leg is as follows:

1st - sam & vince (hongkong)

2nd - ida & tania (malaysia)

3rd - geoff & tisha (philippines)

4th - ad & fuzzie (singapore)

will this eventually lead to ad & fuzzie's elimination? or will they come back and take one of the top three spots in the finale?

pinoy fear factor: first challenge revealed

the first challenge of the much awaited pinoy fear factor was already revealed in the show's official multiply site. after arriving at argentina fafter 36 hours, the participantes are shown seated by a bonfire, the 5 females grouped together and the 7 males grouped together. ryan then said that it is a custom in argentina to drink "mate" (its pronounced as 2 syllables, as in the tagalog word for checkmate).

"Here you will learn everything you need to know about Argentina Mate. Drinking mate is a growing a custom all over the world. People drink for health, to socialize, or because they love the rich flavor. Preparing and drinking Argentina Mate is a work of art! It takes practice to master the techniques, but its not too hard.

First you have to learn to say "mate" correctly. At first the english speaker thinks of the work mate or companion. In spanish the word is pronounced differently. It has two silables, "Ma" and "te". Getting Started

survivor philippines: castaways participates in survivor auction

on day 22 of survivor philippines, the castaways participated in a survivor auction. but before they start, they have to earn the money that they would use. they would go out to the water in groups of 3 and submerge themselves in water. each second that they are in the water earns them money. the first group was cris, kiko and zita. the second group was jc, kaye and marlon; and the last group was charisse, rob and veronica.

each second underwater earns them 500 pesos that they could use in the auction. here is the money that each survivor earned for the auction: cris - 5000, marlon - 6000, rob - 9500, kaye - 15000, charisse - 15500, jc - 22500, kiko - 28500, zita - 39500 and vernica - 48000. the survivors are allowed to lend or borrow money but are not allowed to share the item.

for the first round, here are the items auctioned:

1. one round chocolate cake - won by zita for php 9,500

2. remained uncovered - won by charisse for php 8,500; revealed to be clubhouse sandwich with chips but there is an option for a scroll that can gain advantage in the game. charisse chose the sandwich. the scroll says that the holder will vote twice in the next tribal council

3. remained covered - won by veronica for php 16,500 - reveled to be a toothbrush and toothpaste that can be brought back to camp but has a choice for the covered item. veronica chose the mystery object, which was half of an apple

4. remained covered - won by veronica for php 25500 - revealed to be a piece of candy (am i right?)

5. remained covered - won by kiko for php 32500 - revealed to be sausage & crackers but has an option to chose a mystery item instead; kiko chose the mystery item which was sampaloc

for the second round the items auctioned were:

1. vanilla milk shake - won by cris for php 5000

2. remained covered - won by jc for php 5000; revealed to be new underwear

3. remained covered - won by kaye for php 23500 - revealed to be leche flan

4. scroll - won by jc for php 40000 - a feast with 3 other castaways in a secret location; jc chose rob, kiko and zita

the auction ended there. the twists was evidently in the first round of the challenge. i think it would be better if they had it in the second round because the second round was abit boring compared to the first. based on the preview, marlon would again try to win cris to their alliance. will he succeed to have a ajarakay comeback? let's watch tonight.

project runway philippines: season 2 auditions announced

after a successful first season, the entertainment channel (etc) announces the auditions for the upcoming second season of projec runway philippines. in its initial teasers, 3 audition dates and venues were announced, all of which are in metro manila. here is the list of the scheduled auditions and the corresponding venues:

november 22 - sm makati
december 7 - sm city north edsa the block
december 12 - sm megamall

my mvp: top 10 players named

the top 10 finalists of the tv 5's basketball reality show, my mvp was named in the show after weeks of try outs, hard practices and drills, practice games and eliminations. the top 10 players were:

the show is waiting for the 2 wildcard entries, which will come from the 15 previously eliminated players that were asked to come back and try again. included in the 15 were salamat, abugan, bartolo, orera, laurel, husseini, cui, limin and ripalda.

in its november 2 episode, the team which is being mentored by coach norman black went up against the burger king team of the pbl. the team is lead by ogie menor and marcy arellano. the my mvp team won, 87 - 78. they then went up against the quezon red oilers of liga pilipinas. again, the team of my mvp won, 102 - 94.

next episode will be an exciting one when they again will meet the pba legends that previously beat them in a practice game.

shall we dance: gab valenciano and jasmin abelgas are the first dance superstars

wildcard entry gabriel valenciano and dance partner jasmin abelgas was declared as the first dance superstars in tv 5's dance reality show shall we dance: search for the next dance superstar. the pair of streetboys member danilo barrios and stephanie sabalo came in second while sexbomb jopay paguia and partner mark cruz came in third.

in the first round, the pairs chose the dance of their choice. up first were jopay and mark, dancing the swing. the judges commented that they lack the connection and missed timings on some part. next was danilo and stephanie with their cha cha number that the judges liked except for some misses on the lifts. the last number was for the wildcard pair gab & jasmin with a contemporary dance. the judges were amazed with their choreography and the passion they had during the dance. the dance off came next with the pairs dancing mambo and pasa doble.

the final score was also revealed. mark & jopay got 8.43, danilo & stephanie got 8.98 and gab & jasmin got 9.17. the winning pair got a prize of five hundred thousand pesos.

the show is hosted by lucy torres - gomez and co-hosted by coverboys jon avila and victor basa. judges for the finale show were regine tolentino, edna ledesma and douglas nieras.

survivor philippines: nikki co-hosts in unang hirit, jace stars in luna mystica

after signing a contract with gma artist center, nikki dacullo's first assignment is being a co-host of the channel's morning show, unang hirit. nikki will start this coming mnday, november 3. nikki is the second cast off to be part of the show. patani daño is the show's palengke correspondent that monitors the prices of market goods. here is the excerpt from a report from philippine entertainment portal ( http://www.pep.ph/news/19754/Survivor-Philippines-castoff-Nikki-Dacullo-takes-the-plunge-and-enters-showbiz ):

Sa kasalukuyan ay hindi pa natatanggal sa Survivor Philippines sina Veronica, Kiko, at Kaye.

"Narito na po ako, kaya ready na ako," nakangiting sagot ni Nikki.

Ano ang feeling niya ngayong may panibagong challenge na naman sa kanya?

"Ninenerbiyos nga po ako at hindi ko pa alam kung ano ang gagawin ko. Siguro naman po makatutulong sa akin ang pagiging call-center agent ko," sagot ni Nikki.

May nakapagsabi sa PEP na sa showbiz news segment ng Unang Hirit siya ilalagay at makakasama niya roon sina Lhar Santiago, Suzi Entrata, Lyn Ching, at Jolina Magdangal. Kaya ipinayo ng PEP sa kanya na dapat ay mag-homework siya at magbasa ng latest showbiz news.

on the other hand, another male cast off is entering show business.the newly evicted cast off and first jury member jace flores is reportedly the previously unnamed survivor contestant that is part of the new soap opera of gma 7 to be lead by heart evangelista. mosts forums thought it would be another cast away, jc tiuseco but reports are saying that it will be jace. here is an excerpt from an article from pilipino star ngayon ( http://www.philstar.com/index.php?Showbiz&p=50&type=2&sec=58&aid=20081101190 ):

let us wait for the shows that the other cast offs would be part off in the coming days. looks like this is only the start of survivor invasion in gma 7.

survivor philippines: why jace lost

reynaldo "jace" flores jr is your typical hunk. being a gym instructor, he has a well sculpted body and awesome physical strength. he can easily win physical challenges and has been actively strategizing on making alliances with other cast aways. but unfortunately, he was the 9th person voted out of the island.

so why did jace lose survivor philippines?

first, he was a big physical threat. being a mixed martial artist and gym instructor, he surely has awesome strength and great pain tolerance. with that in mind, cast aways will look at him as some one who can easily win challenges and immunity as well. it would be the best if he was eliminated on the first available tribal council that he has no immunity, and the first chalam tribal council was perfect timing.

second, he was lazy at camp. it was emphasized for almost 2 weeks now that after john left, jace became one of the laziest persons in the tribe. he helped the least in camp and has been sleeping much. that is basically why naak voted for him, as said by rob in a previous episode. they were choosing between marlon and jace but marlon was a greater help in camp, which lead them to a concensus that it was jace's time to go.

third, he divulged too much to jc even though he has not tested his loyalty to him. he was so sure that jc was on his side and told him everything about his plans. but jc was on the other side and was loyal to naak. he told them everything that jace told him and warned them of his plans. being the one active in strategizing among the jarakay members, naak saw a strategic threat in him, making himself very vulnerable to be voted out.

fourth, he has previously voted the wrong persons out. his initial muscle alliance in jarakay was with marlon, john, veronica and gigit. on the first tribal council of jarakay, they planned to vote out patani. but they ended up voting gigit instead. on jarakay's second tribal council, they planned to vote out nikki, who was their weakest link. but they ended up voting john instead. the allies that he has was simply being voted out one by one, and he was directly involved in letting them go. you must keep a strong alliance to survive in this game.

fifth, his maturity level is low compared to the other cast aways. comparing hios behavior at chalam with the likes of marlon and charisse, he was simply out played and out strategized by the two former jarakay members.

what was the main reason on why he lost? i would pick two. it would be being a physical strength and wrong strategy. he lasted till the merge, which is a positive sign that he played well. we will be seeing him in the next weeks since he will be a jury member. now that he was blindsided, it would be interesting to see his choice on who will be the sole survivor.

survivor philippines: jace becomes first member of the jury

after 21 days in the island, jace flores became the 9th person voted out of the first season of survivor philippines. the 19 year old mixed martial artist and gym instructor is the first one to be voted out of the merged tribe, chalam and the first member of the jury. he was voted out with a 6 - 4 vote, 4 votes going to kiko. in his exit interview, jace said that it was unexpected and he was still anticipating for at least a tie but things went differently.

as expected, the remaining 6 original naak members (kiko, rob, jc, cris, kaye and zita) voted together and voted jase while the 4 original jarakay members (jace, veronica, charisse and marlon) voted for kiko. the plan of naak to vote out jarakay one by one is in place. and it would be exciting to see how the remaining 3 jarakay members will fight it out to survive.

pinoy fear factor: last 2 participantes revealed

the last 2 participantes of the much awaited reality show pinoy fear factor was revealed last friday at abs cbn's nightly news tv patrol world. the last 2 participantes were chef jose sarasola and ledge dancer savanah lamsen.

jose sarasola was born to a spanish father and a filipina mother. being an only child, he went to an exclusive school. he is now a chef at one of the luxurious hotels in manila. he has two sets of friends, the rich kids and one group is his village friends (security guards, helpers, etc.) when he meets a girl, he introduces her first to his village friends to see the girl's reaction. he has been travelling a lot and plays basketball.

savanah lamsen might be one of the most controversial of the bunch. this 23 year old ledge dance from quezon city had a pretty much easy life when her parents were still together. they owned a meat shop then. but when her parents split up, she became the breadwinner and adjusted to a simple life. she had posed topless in a mens magazine, hoping for an exposure that can get her into show business.

the show will start on november 10 at primetime bida.
